An exceptional set of two authentic, small porcelain wall plates, made in Japan using the traditional Chokin art. This specific technique of embossed metal engraving (gilded with 24-karat gold and silver) has its roots in the 12th century when it adorned the armor of the Samurai.
This set stands out for its deep, noble cobalt blue color on the perimeter and the wonderful depictions of birds, symbolizing the harmony of nature.

Artist Signature: The plate with the pair of birds bears the authentic engraved signature of the Japanese craftsman in traditional characters (Kanji) on the metal plaque (as seen in the close-up photo), which proves its artistic value.
