Aesthetic small sculpture in neo-Romantic style, depicting a little girl hugging a lamb. A classic decorative theme from the early 20th century, inspired by European pastoral compositions, it portrays the little girl and the lamb as symbols of innocence and tenderness.
The piece is made of white material, possibly biscuit porcelain, with a matte finish and beautiful clear rendering of the details. It is in very good condition but has a break and is missing the little finger of the girl's left hand (see close-up in the photos) – hence it is offered at this price. It has been displayed in a showcase in our home in Cairo since at least the early 1950s, so it is over 70 years old!
Dimensions (approximate): length 13 cm, width 5 cm, height 11 cm.
Suitable decoration for a coffee table or nightstand or as a small collectible sculpture for display.
