Rare collectible vintage altimeter Lufft, Made in Germany, from the 1950s. It reaches up to 10,000 feet and features a height reset. The instrument is metallic and has a glass face. In the center, below the needle, the characteristic logo "Lufft" is visible. On the base rim, there are three holes for mounting with screws on a dashboard. It is in good condition, with visible signs of aging and some rust, mainly on the back side.
I recently tested it with a trip to Penteli and it works normally, meaning the needle went up on the ascent and then went down on the return.
This particular altimeter was mounted on the dashboard of our family car, if I remember correctly in a green (British racing green) Morris Minor station wagon.
It was intended for use in small aircraft, gliders, cars, but also by mountaineers. Ideal for collectors of vintage aviation instruments, car equipment, or mountaineering gear.
