BOOK, THE ARCHILOCUS OF (TECHLEMETSIS GRIGORIS)
OUT OF STOCK,
HISTORICAL NOVEL BOOK / THE ARCHILOCHUS / GRIGORIS TECHLEMENZIS / GAVRILIDIS 2016 / NEW, INCLUDES BIBLIOGRAPHY AND REFERENCES
What does Archilochus want from Dimitris? Why does he visit him in his dreams? Why do events and images from a distant era come uncontrollably to his mind? Has he gone mad? Do dreams take revenge? A historical novel about the fascinating personality of the poet Archilochus, set against the backdrop of the Aegean and the tumultuous, colonial Archaic era. Innovative, bold, utterly human to the point of being unacceptable, sarcastic, hedonistic, blasphemous, vengeful, clumsily honest, without caring for his legacy, wanting only to live enjoying every moment, full of cheer and vitality, he satirized the aristocratic class and its ideals and turned poetry towards the emotional world of the everyday person. He fell in love, was disappointed, fought, was loved and hated, leaving us a rough and vigorous work. At the same time, the confinement of man in professional and family obligations and the crushing of his possibilities, dreams, and desires, following modern social rhythms and demands. A book with a variety of writing styles, assimilating past and present, creating a unified yet contradictory atmosphere.
The book contains 177 useful references.
