Artist Danae Stratou (Danae Stratou, wife of Yanis Varoufakis) is known worldwide mainly for her large-scale works (land art, installations, video, photography), and smaller works of hers are not easy to find at all.
The “Private View Finder, 2000” is a small (and –by extension– accessible to private individuals) authentic and signed work by the artist. It is a metallic square hollow tube structure containing a prism. Through this prism, we can look at the world with our own “Private View” eye.
The work measures 30x2x2 cm and is housed inside acrylic glass measuring approximately 34.5x4x4 cm. (dimensions are approximate). The acrylic and metal elements have some small scratches.
The exceptional rarity of her small (and, by extension, accessible and affordable) works makes “Private View Finder, 2000” collectible. It is aimed at contemporary art collectors, but also anyone who would like to add a unique and valuable element to their home or office decor.

The visual artist Danae Stratou (Danae Stratou, wife of Yanis Varoufakis) was born in Athens in 1964. She studied fine arts at Central Saint Martins in London from 1983 to 1988. She was an adjunct professor at the Athens School of Fine Arts from 2007 to 2012. She represented Greece at the 48th Venice Biennale in 1999 (and was the first woman to represent Greece in 30 years) and at the Adelaide Festival in Australia in 2012. She is co-founder of the non-profit organization Vital Space. The organization is based on the principle that artworks can change the world for the better and “is dedicated to the initiation of artworks, aiming to reach and influence a broad and diverse audience.” Works by Danae Stratou are housed in the National Museum of Contemporary Art and in public and private collections worldwide.
